Young Life Banquet 2018
In October Young Life Greenville came to us with a vision for several videos that would be shown at their fundraising Banquet in mid November. The videos were different, in style and scope, but we wanted to create a theme that carried through all of the pieces. Scroll to the bottom to see the finished pieces!
Evenings:
The most ambitious of the pieces was a video that followed a week of Young Life was the “Evenings” video. Each night of the week Young Life looks different, this meant we got to dive into Young Life headfirst. We shot over 6 days and captured all of the elements of Young Life from Club, which is a fun night full of games, songs and fellowship, to Campaigners which is a much more in depth, small group style, setting. One of the Young Life Team members served as our voice over talent and after we worked together to settle on a script, we recorded the voice over and used that as our roadmap, to tell us what we needed to shoot and where!
STORIES:
The “stories” video told the stories of three kids who’s lives have been changed in large part because of Young Life. After we determined the general outline of the video we spent some time conceptualizing the style and feel for the video, that let us know what gear we would need and what type of location we were looking for. For this we went for a raw feel. We wanted to keep the frame simple, yet interesting, while all keeping the kids and their stories as the main focus. Showing the setup and backdrop in the wide shot paired with a tighter frame gave the video some variety and created a little interest in an otherwise simple space.
